Inpatient Psychiatry, Bronx, NY

Murals were painted throughout the 22-bed unit, with a full-wall scene of nearby Hudson River Valley in the Community Room, where it was surrounded by focal points, rendered in a playful mixture of full-color and blue-gray underpaintings, to give a modern twist and keep patients oriented to the dayroom space. Additional large- and small-scale focal points of related tree and wildlife imagery was painted throughout the hallways—complementing the Community Room full-wall mural, which was visible through windows from the hallway as well.
