Psychotherapy

At In|vision, psychotherapy is offered compassionately and constructively: to the nuances of your life story.

Convenient, individual telehealth video appointments are scheduled weekly or biweekly, for 50-minute sessions with Stephanie Condra, MPS, ATR-BC, LCAT, LPAT—a New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, New Mexico State Licensed Professional Art Therapist, and nationally Board Certified Art Therapist.

Stephanie has been in practice for over 10 years and worked with thousands of patients—amidst various settings, client/patient age groups, client/patient demographics, and presenting issues. She has previously specialized her practice in direct care and supervision of therapies with acute conditions and diagnoses within Inpatient Psychiatry—with strong focus on primary trauma as it impacts those conditions and diagnoses, systemic work, grief and loss, and delivery of trauma-informed care.

Stephanie is a trusted and award-winning clinician. She has been recruited into Assistant Professorships at top-ranking academic Graduate Art Therapy Training programs at Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has consistently won awards individually and unit-wide within the hospitals she has worked, received top percentile rankings for provision of therapy in patient care compared amongst Psychiatric Units across the country, and received the highest ratings of patient satisfaction within unit-wide care for her innovative Creative Arts Therapies programs in each Department in which she has worked.

Let her share this expertise, compassion, and deep attunement with you.

Stephanie’s psychotherapy practice at In|vision remains founded on a deep appreciation, study, and training in psychodynamic, mindfulness, transpersonal, and energetic bodywork philosophy and technique—infusing each client/patient interaction with hope, gentleness, and openness to both what has transpired in their lives before and to what will unfold and be created together in the present moment…and going forward.

With patience, acceptance, curiosity, and creativity:

Let’s work together to discover what is next for you in your journey.

Your Art Therapy Journey Now

  • Art Therapy is a psychotherapeutic practice which integrates art making, creative processes, and multimodal expressions into traditional talk therapy. The practice itself of making art is demonstrated to enhance wellbeing, impacting neurochemical, nervous system and biofeedback responses within the body. The art-making process and the art created can also be utilized to express innermost thoughts, feelings, memories, goals, dreams, and inspirations, that can sometimes be difficult to express using language in talk therapy alone. At In|vision, art therapy combines both approaches, and at least half of all sessions will focus on traditional talk therapy and discussion.

Don’t worry—no prior art training is necessary to engage in art therapy, and the aesthetic value of the final product is not judged, critiqued, or even what we are looking for in our work. What we are trying to access are simply your authentic, genuine expressions. In fact, the philosophy practiced at In|vision is based on the tenet that creativity is present in every living act we engage in. We use art-making and other creative expressions, therefore, to harness that creative instinct and impulse to make the most of every day and to support and propel you in your next step forward—while aligning and staying true to yourself and your values.

  • Standard full fee at In|vision for a 50-minute, individual therapy session is $225. The full fee for standard 50-minute couple's therapy sessions is $285.

Additional minutes beyond the standard 50-minute session--if needed at any time--will be pro-rated per minute based on your session fee, and added to the 50-minute fee as the total cost of that session.

Sliding Scale and Equity Fee Structure Options: You deserve access to quality care and wellness. If paying the full fee is not possible for you right now, please discuss sliding scale fees that are affordable for you at this time. Please ask about special rates for students and for periods of medical or financial hardship.

Insurance Coverage: In|vision currently accepts Cigna insurance for New York based clients. If you have another insurance provider that In|vision does not currently accept, however, a comprehensive bill for therapy services can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company in a claim for out-of-network reimbursement.

Please check back for insurance plans that In|vision accepts in the future, as information will be updated as it becomes available.

Cancellations: Should you need to cancel a session that has been scheduled, please do so at least 48 hours in advance to avoid paying the full fee of your session.

  • A complimentary 15-minute phone consultation is offered as you discover the therapeutic approach and possibilities at In|vision.

A comprehensive initial intake is scheduled once you decide to begin your therapy journey with In|vision. This will allow you to tell the story of your background and history, as guided through questions posed in the session, as a foundation from which to work as you move forward in your goals. Please note that an intake session will be scheduled for 1 hour 15 minutes, at a standard full-fee cost of $250. (Please see above information regarding sliding scale payment options.)

Therapy sessions are typically scheduled weekly, however biweekly scheduling is also available should your schedule or budget prefer it.

  • Not all sessions might include art-making. However, for when they do, a list of recommended art materials with sourcing information will be provided at the start of your therapy journey at In|vision for your use at home during telehealth art therapy sessions.

Basic essential art supplies will be identified for ease, efficiency, and budgeting and/or for you to pull from your own home inventory. Additional ideas for expanded supply options in your creative art-making will also be provided, to follow at your choice and inspiration.

Other materials you may have already can also be incorporated into therapy sessions. Any number of found objects, recycled materials, or creative uses of pigments and media part of your home, office or pantry can also be accessed as you choose. These objects can be powerful additions as you rethink situations and patterns in therapy sessions, are budget friendly, and stretch your problem-solving, reframing, and imagination. They are embraced and encouraged in telehealth work at In|vision.
