Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center (now retitled Long Island Community Hospital at NYU Langone Health), East Patchogue, NY

Four walls in the round were painted as one continuously integrated scene, using a combination of full-wall mural and focal point techniques with the goal of retaining reality orientation for patients experiencing psychosis or disorientation. The identified theme by administration for the mural was a “Zen Garden”—to invoke associations of “a metaphorical journey on the river of life.”
